The Downsides to our House

Because you have heard all good things, mostly, it is time to talk about the downsides of the house. The ceiling is very sloped in the most inconvenient places. Over the washing machine, the dishwasher, the cabinets in the kitchen, Florence and my room, and Mummy’s bathroom. It looks attractive and cute, sometimes, but not when you bonk your head.
The dishwasher is not very good.  All the glasses we put in the dishwasher mostly were used for drinking water or milk, but when we fill up the dishwasher and wait until it is done making the dishes “clean”, they come out dirtier than before! We are thinking about washing all the dishes by hand. Yuck!
Today, Eleanor, James, and I each bought a new, clean, and colorful mug. That way we will have our own special cup to keep instead of drinking out of those dirty glasses. When they need a clean, we can just get our own mugs and hand wash them, ourselves.  Also, they even have a cute design!
The washing machine is hard to get to and VERY small. Not the right size for our family! Also, we don’t have a dryer and we have to let our laundry sit on the rack in our kitchen for a few days to dry. If we run out of underwear or socks before they dry on the rack, we can let them dry on the radiators. If you are lucky, you can get your clothes warm if the radiator is on when you need your clothes.
It is quite funny to be having breakfast, lunch, or dinner with our laundry sitting there with us. Even if our clothes like social time, maybe we should put some of the less appealing clothes on the back part of the rack so we don’t have to look at them.
The slanted ceiling in the kitchen, above the cabinets is quite annoying. Yes, you have to bend over to get ingredients out of the cabinets anyway, but if you move back and stand up, you bonk your head. I guess I will get used to it. Sigh…
Love,
Ashley
