Madurodam is a miniature city where they made models of buildings and other structures from different parts of the Netherlands. They had moving trains, boats, and some cars. The people are about 3" high. They had an airport, locks, a bridge that moves up and down (a "hefbrug"), and many buildings. It was started as a memorial of the son of the Maduro family, because he died in the War. The board of directors are all children, because it's a miniature city. The mayor changes every year and is about 16-17 years old.

It is just like I remembered it! I loved Madurodam when I was young....haven't been for ages. Lucky you! And the boat trip looked AMAZING! How lucky you are to have done that too! Too bad you're not enjoying your meals.....

ReplyDeleteThat might be the coolest thing I have ever seen. Are the trees and grass real or artificial? I don't think it really matters, it's still pretty awesome!
